Viltu hætta að borða óhollustuna?

Ég rakst á þessa tækni í bók sem ég las um daginn, bið ég lesendur Bromleytíðinda að prófa þessa æfingu og kommentera svo hvort hún hafi virkað. Verði ykkur að góðu.

Before you do this exercise read through all the steps first.

1. Think of a food that you really hate - one that really disgusts you. ( A woman who swore that she loved to eat everything finally agreed that she found the idea of eating a plate of human hair repulsive)

2. Next, I want you to vividly imagine there is a big plate of the food you hate in front of you. Now imagine smelling and then eating the food that you hate, as you squeeze the thumb and little finger of either had together.
Really imagine the texture of it on your mouth as you squeeze your thumb and little finger together. Imagine the taste of it, squeezing your thumb and little finger together until you feel feel utterly revolted.
When you are feeling a bit nauseous, stop and relax your fingers.

3. Next, I want you to think of the food that you are going to stop eating. When you think of it, notice that you can imagine what a plate of it looks like.

4. Now, make that picture of the food you like bigger and brighter. Make it huge, until itæs bigger than you, and make it even bigger and bigger and bring it closer and closer and then pass it through you and out the other side. (Most people say that it feels a bit weird to pass the picture through your body - like when a ghost passes through your body in the Harry Potter stories.)

5.Ready? Squezze your thumb and finger together and remember the taste of the food you hate, while at the same time imagining eating some of the food you like. Now imagine the food you like is mixed in with the food you hate.
Imagine eating the two foods together, the food you like and the food you hate. Keep imagining the taste and texture of the two together. Keep eating them in your mind, a big plate, swallow them down, as you squeeze your thumb and little fing together. That´s it, eat even more, more and more until you can not eat anymore, then stop.

6. Now, think about the food you used to like and notice how it is different now.

  • ... af hverju ætti ég að vilja hætta að borða mat sem mér finnst góður? Hvers lags sadisti er þessi Paul að ætla að blanda saman 'mat' sem mér finnst vondur t.d. diskur af hárum(!!!) saman við það sem mér finnst gott að borða. Hvað, á maður þá ekki að borða það sem manni finnst gott? Á maður að borða það sem er ekki gott og ekki vont, heldur einhver staðar þarna á milli. Er málið kannski að þegar fólk borðar eitthvað gott missir það stjórn á sér og getur ekki hætt að borða. Borðar bara og borðar og borðar og borðar og borðar (Hvernig ætli þessi Paul líti út).

  • Heirún:
Ég tók þessu meira sem, ef maður er t.d. súkkulaði sjúkur eða sjúkur í snakk. Svona til að losna við svoleiðis slæma ávana en ekki mat over all.
